Something I teach in my workshop that I needed the reminder was to make space for shoots where I intentionally take risks, listen to curiosity, learn from mistakes and lean into what’s inspiring me…

This session was all about. I challenged myself to shoot only film without any digital camera as a safety to fall back on. I was equal parts excited and terrified 😅

I’ve loved incorporating film rolls here and there into my digital work but have never trusted myself enough to only shoot film. It was definitely a different experience and holy shit did I go through rolls so much faster than I anticipated but man—I’m so in love and proud of this work and beyond grateful for families like this one who trusted and allowed me to navigate something new with them! (aren’t they adorable?!)

Truly happy with how everything came together and the moments I was able to capture one dreamy summer evening with the sweetest Violé family 😌✨

A very special Super 8 from my time with the Violé family’s all film session and no—I don’t think i’ll ever be over how dreamy and magical this time together was capturing their joy.
